How do I book an appointment?

Can I book with a specific practitioner?

Acupuncture & TCM

Does acupuncture hurt?

Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, far thinner than the needles used for injections. Most people feel only a light tap or a mild, dull sensation as the needle settles, and many find the session so relaxing that they drift off. If anything ever feels uncomfortable, just let your acupuncturist know and they will adjust.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes. Your treatment is provided by a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. We use single-use sterile needles that are safely disposed of after every session, and your acupuncturist reviews your health history before treatment to keep your care appropriate for you.

What is Fu's Subcutaneous Needling (FSN)?

Fu's Subcutaneous Needling (FSN) is a modern acupuncture technique that works in the superficial fascia just beneath the skin rather than at deeper points. Using a specialized needle with gentle swaying movements, combined with guided reperfusion activities, it releases tight muscle and restores circulation, and it is often used for stubborn chronic pain such as neck, shoulder, and back pain, sports tendinopathies, and sciatica. FSN appointments are booked by phone: call (604) 304-7779.

Massage Therapy

How is Registered Massage Therapy different from a spa massage?

A spa massage is built around relaxation. Registered Massage Therapy is delivered by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) registered with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. Sessions begin with an assessment of your posture and movement, then use targeted, clinically informed techniques to address specific concerns. You also receive a receipt for your extended health plan, which a spa cannot provide.

Will massage therapy hurt, and how much pressure is used?

Pressure is always adjusted to your comfort. Deeper work can feel intense in tight areas, but it should never be more than you can comfortably handle, and you stay in control the entire time. Just tell your therapist if you would like more or less pressure; effective treatment does not require pain.

Physiotherapy

What does physiotherapy at the clinic involve?

Physiotherapy is assessment-based: your Registered Physiotherapist assesses your history and movement, then builds a treatment plan for injuries, persistent pain, concussion, or vestibular symptoms. Treatment can include one-on-one Clinical Pilates, dry needling, manual therapy, and electrical modalities.

How do I book Clinical Pilates?

One-on-one Clinical Pilates with our Registered Physiotherapist is booked by phone rather than online. Call (604) 304-7779 and we will set it up.

Counselling

What happens in a first counselling session?

The first session is mostly about getting to know you. You talk about what brings you in, what you are hoping for, and what is happening in your life right now, then shape a few goals together with your counsellor. There is nothing you need to prepare and nothing you have to share before you feel ready. Sessions are available in person or virtually.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes. Sessions are private and confidential. What you share stays between you and your counsellor, within the standard professional and legal limits that protect safety. Your privacy is taken seriously at every step.

Billing

Do you direct bill my insurance?

Direct billing is available for many extended-health insurers, so the covered portion of your visit can be billed to your plan and you only pay any remaining balance. Ask about direct billing when you book, or call (604) 304-7779 and we will confirm whether your plan can be billed directly.

Do I get a receipt for my visit?

Yes. We issue an official receipt for every paid visit, including your practitioner's registration number (R.Ac, RMT, Registered Physiotherapist, or RSW), so you can submit it to your extended health plan.
